Ahmed Tijjani Abdulkadir is a teacher, journalist and a broadcast regulator, working with the
National Broadcasting Commission, Nigeria, as the Zonal Director,
Maiduguri Zone. He supervises monitoring and regulation of broadcast
stations in the zone which comprises all broadcast stations in Borno,
Yobe, Gombe and Adamawa states.
Ahmed Tijjani Abdulkadir was born in Bakori, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, Nigeria on October 15, 1961. He attended Nadabo Primary School Bakori, from 1967 to 1973. He proceeded to Rimi College Kaduna where he had his secondary education from 1973 to 1978.

He holds a Master's in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria which he completed in 2005. He earned his first degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, in 1989 where he studied Education and Language Arts. He has also earned a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from College of Education, Kafanchan in Kaduna State of Nigeria which was affiliated to the Institute of Education, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria, in 1982, majoring in English and Islamic Studies. In addition, he holds a Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja, earned in 1998; a Certificate in Communication Research from Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Television College, Jos, 1992 and a Certificate in Radio Journalism and Management from The Thomson Foundation, earned in 1997.
Ahmed Tijjani Abdulkadir began his working career as a classroom teacher, teaching English Language and Literature in secondary schools. He then switched over to journalism when he joined Katsina State Television as a Current Affairs Officer. There, he handled documentary programs, discussion programs on politics and personality profiles. He also did news reporting and news editing. He rose through the ranks to become Manager News and Current Affairs before he transferred his service to the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Abuja. After three and a half years, late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, who was then the Katsina State Governor, appointed him as the General Manager, Katsina State Television. After two and a half years he returned to the National Broadcasting Commission, Abuja in 2006 as Assistant Director, Public Affairs. In 2007, he became the Acting Head, Public Affairs. And in 2008, he became the Zonal Director, National Broadcasting Commission, Kaduna Zone; 2012, Zonal Director, National Broadcasting Commission, Sokoto Zone; 2014, Zonal Director, National Broadcasting Commission, Maiduguri Zone, where he still is.
