Medical students sponsored by Katsina State Government are under
critical situation in Omdurman, Sudan, as they have been forcefully
ejected out of the hostel rented for them by Katsina State Government,
because the rent has expired!
One of the girls, who recently got married, was beaten up by security guards who locked her up and refused to let her out of the house until she settled two months rent arrears, which she didn't have.

When the other girls returned from school they, too, beat up one of the
security guards, until the police were called in to intervene.
It could be recalled that the past administration of Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema sponsored many of the girls to study Medicine and other courses in the Sudan and other countries.
Ibrahim Shema claimed, at the time, that his government had paid all their expenses from the beginning to the end of their courses, including Air Fare. That parents were to pay only for their children's International Passports and sponsor them to come home and go back during holidays.
But a few months back, Governor Masari had to intervene and pay their upkeep allowances which were exhausted before the courses were completed.
And now, several months after, the balance of rent has not been paid which led to this incident.
The students, all girls, have been living in constant fear in a foreign land. And their incessant complaints to the officials of Katsina State Ministry of Education has not produced the desired results.
