Katsina State Government Sets Up Inauguration Committee For New Government

The outgoing Katsina State Government, under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari, has set up an inauguration committee to usher in the newly elected government. 

The new government to take over from Governor Aminu Bello Masari, will be headed by the Governor-elect, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda and his running mate, Faruk Lawal Joɓe.

A letter released Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from the office of the Secretary to the Government (SGS) of Katsina State, signed by the Permanent Secretary (Cabinet & Security), Sulaiman Y. Safana, revealed that the committee will operate in accordance with the following terms of reference:

(i) To identify and make adequate preparation of the venue for the swearing-in of Their Excellencies, the Governor-elect and the Deputy Governor-elect;
(ii) To arrange and cater for security and required logistics;
(iii) To prepare list of important dignitaries to be invited to grace the occasion;
(iv) To identify and arrange decent accommodation for the invited dignitaries;
(v) To produce and distribute programme/Invitations for the event; and 
(vi) To co-opt any other person(s) to assist the committee.  

The committee will operate under the chairmanship of the Commissioner for Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua, while Barrister Hannatu Musawa will serve as the secretary of the committee. 

Members of the committee include the Director, Media and Publicity Committee of the Katsina State APC Campaign Council, Ahmed Abdulkadir, among others. 

The committee will be inaugurated next Thursday, March 30, 2023, at General Muhammadu Buhari House, Katsina. 

Ahmed Abdulkadir

Ahmed Tijjani Abdulkadir is a seasoned media executive, journalist, teacher, entrepreneur, and public servant with over 35 years of distinguished experience in broadcasting, media regulation, public communication, and education. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Katsina State Radio and Television Service Board and holds several leadership positions in the private sector. He is the Chairman of Namowa MediaHub and Barau & Namowa Agro-Allied and General Services, as well as the Managing Director of Broadsphere Ventures Limited and Managing Director of FASAB Foods Nigeria Ltd. Mr. Abdulkadir holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Bayero University, Kano, and a Bachelor of Education (Language Arts) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also possesses professional qualifications in journalism and broadcasting from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Abuja, NTA Television College Jos, and The Thomson Foundation/British Council, and a Certificate in Digital Journalism (Reuters/Meta Journalism Project).
