Send-Off Vs Send-Forth
Many Nigerians think send-forth is the same as send-off.
Send-forth is decidedly Nigerian English, while send-off, according to the Advanced English Dictionary, is, "an expression of goodwill at the start of a trip or new venture". Whereas you can't find the former in most dictionaries, you can find the later in all dictionaries of the world.
Interestingly, many native English speakers and teachers are unaware of the existence of the word, "send-forth", as I will show presently:
