The 3rd Bride

Alhamdu lillah! All praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The CreationDr. Mauludatu Ahmad, the third daughter I married off, has been conveyed to her husband's house, Dr. Aminu Muhammad Nura, himself a Consultant in Orthopedics, Trauma & Spine.

You may recall that only three relatives and a few friends who were at hand, were invited during her wedding fatiha in July, 2020, in strict compliance with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and in deference to the CIVID-19 protocol.

We faced some challenges, though; she was hospitalized for 13 days, so there was no ceremony.  We experienced a similar challenge more than two years ago, when she was writing her final exam at Ahfad University for Women, Omdurman, Sudan, where she studied Medicine. She fell ill during the last three papers that she had to be put on drips in the same hospital she was doing her last practicals. The examiner kept on holding her hand and taking her out to vomit. She completed the exam in that condition and, mercifully, she still passed.

And now, again, she was discharged from the same hospital where she is serving as a Youth Corper, four days ago, just when her wedding ceremony was scheduled to begin, so all celebrations had to be cancelled while she is convalescing and she was conveyed to her husband's house by her sisters and close relatives without any fanfare.

This incident reminds me of the biblical quote,  "Physician, heal thyself". Being a doctor, herself, and married to a consultant did not save her from ailments, neither did their combined knowledge and expertise heal her from the ailment because healing powers reside in the hands of Almighty Allah, who healed her at the appropriate time he deemed fit. Subhan Allah!

We solicit for your prayers for the couple. All is well that ends well.
